No tips. The big trucks dont have a summer/winter setting like the PW's do. Usually my big WF will spit sputter and die. After a few minutes the heat will soak back up in the carb and melt and after that its fine (As long as You leave it running). Usually if my house heat pump is frosted on the outside I dont get in the old truck.
I have often wondered if say a metal clothes hanger wrapped around the exhaust and then run up touching the carb area would be enough to keep the icing down?!?! Conduct the heat up to it.
