Today I finally had a chance to mess with the W-400. I copied a bunch of your suggestions (Thanks guys) and brought my trouble shooting sheet into work. I told my boss what I wanted to do and he said sure, just dont spend a whole ton of time on it. So...I pulled the carb, and the EGR valve, checked the EGR and cleaned it, I also ran another vacuum leak check on it and found the carb base to mainfold gasket had a bit of a leak as well, so Replaced that. I put the truck back together and fired it up, and it ran better, and did some adjusting to the carb. It will Idle at 1000 RPM now (as per the factory in-dash tach, but the idle is choppy, not smooth. Before I did the above mentioned stuff, it would not stay running below 1700 RPM! Yea, no kidding. So I made some progress. I took it for a bit of a drive and it ran decent, but would sometimes hesistate a bit at mid throttle. I have a feeling, its more carb issues now than anything. The boss does not want me to mess with trying to take the TQ apart, (which is fine, because I never tore into one before) Maybe I can get him to splurge on a Edelbrock for it? Thanks again for the help!
