I just don't see how a tire/wheel combo, spinning at speed, is any harder to stop than the same weight in the back, traveling forward at the same speed.

I think all the discussions re: unsprung weigths etc are on sports cars, which never do add two tons of ballast to the trunk.

Nor that a full floating axle, that was built to handle dual wheels, can't handle a single w/t that barely weighs more than the stock single.
