This is a WDX wrecker that I've been saving for a few years now. Of all the trucks I have this is the one I would like to have restored.

It has a Holmes wrecker (460). The sheet metal on the cab is good, some floor work needs to be done. Doors are solid. Engine runs and winch works. (It has an MU-2 mounted up front). The frame is solid but does have some separation behind the cab.

Early in June I started doing work on this truck. We stripped the old wrecker body off, and disassembled most of the wrecker. New side panels were fabbed up. We freed up all the pulleys and gears, restrung the cable, and reworked the sling. I got the engine running, fixed a broken spring bolt. We repaired the winch. The wrecker cranks by hand. New rods need to be fabbed up for the levers that run the wrecker pto. The pto does work.

The truck is by no means restored but I sandblasted the exterior of the cab, repaired the fenders and installed new brackets on both front and rear fenders, good used running boards, good tires.

I did not do any body work to the cab interior but I have replacement cab mount and kick panels to go with the truck along with cab corners. I had some fleet yellow paint and sprayed it out to keep the rust down. The black is rustolium industrial enamel The new wrecker body can be easily disassembled with a screw gun. The fenders are all solid as well as the headlights. The brakes do not work, but I did drive it in the VPW rally parade in Iowa.

The truck is registered in Maine in my name (I own property there and and have a legitimate address). A photocopy of the registration with a Bill of sale should get a title just about anywhere.
