my experience is that for parts you would want to use powder coat, use imron and you will be happy. its repairable, durable and widely available. powder coat is like varnish on a wood boat. its good until water gets under it via a chip or a scratch. we have used imron for many years on our commercial truck bumpers and frames. trucks come in with bent bumpers and the paint hangs on tight through the bend.
its nasty to work with, so find a local guy with experience to shoot it. boat painters in the know prefer imron to allgrip.
