I think i explained how to use a voltmeter
to test voltage along the system
and then the ohm meter to check for grounds
regards your books/manuals comment
before one can really fix anything one needs to know how it works and this type of iginition system is old technology and not taught today as it is no longer widely used William H. Crouse's text book "Automotive Electrical Systems" (4th edition 1959) has
28 pages or so (ch 17) on how the Ign System works and the function of each component
in the system (and is copyrighted) this book
would be a good addition to one's library
