First you need to press/bfh the studs out, then the drum falls off. Lots easier to access brakes with the loose/external drum.

Doing your own conversion would need a good sized lathe, a mandrel that works inside the bearing cups, and turning the new flange true after welding. Then precision drilling for the rotor bolts. Not doable in the average home shop. Not even mine- yet. But if I buy the next brake lathe on Craigslist...
