... the shafts have little splines, and you can put the shaft together in many different positions, but it is only balanced in one. This was all done at the factory, and/or when the drivelines were modified, as was done in this case.
The problem is that on old trucks, somebody always took the shaft in half, and neglected to mark how it was originally assembled, so they got ot wrong when they put it back to together, so it vibrates at high speed. Problem: there are three (3) different shafts in the 2wd drivetrain, at least one vibrates, now I gotta figure out which one... set phasers on "Kill the guy who messed this up"!
