No, it costs you more when the buyer uses a credit card. It also costs you more if the buyer is foreign. The trouble is, when you list the item and the payment preferences, you don't have any way to know how they're going to pay. I always still give people the option of mailing me a check, even though ebay/paypal doesn't allow it any more. Never had a problem with checks. Part of the reason a lot of ebay sellers pad their shipping charges is surely to help cover the high fees ebay/paypal charges. Remember, ebay/paypal charges you coming and going -- coming when you list and sell the item, and going, when the customer pays for it.

They've written a nifty piece of software, although "Auctiva" has given me no end of trouble, but they definitely need some competition.
