Foote axles: new axles for M37s

You bought them from Patson Parts, which is our surplus place in Anchorage. Foote made them, though they now call themselves Superior Axle. Foote was an OEM mfg. of M37 axles 50 years ago. The new run of axles used modern computer controlled heat treating and probably better alloys. Though I suspect axles built by one of the racing oriented places like Strange would be stronger yet, since they're made out of very expensive alloy material.
Rod Patson told me he bought 1-200 axle shafts, though most are sold. They have about "half a dozen" sets left; they sell for $138 EACH ($276/pair). Their phone # is 907-333-5682.
