If studs are broken off below block surface, they can be carefully drilled out and the holes cleaned out with a tap. You must be very careful doing this. Start with a smaller drill and work your way up to larger drill. If you can get it drilled out enough, you can then take a torch and heat it up enough to back the broken stud out with an "easy out". The heat will make it turn loose. Keep drill centered, and square to block surface. Be careful not to damage threads in the block. A tricky proceedure, but it can be done. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, enlist the help of an auto machinist. Vintage Power Wagons sells NOS head bolts. Good luck, Todd
