My '70 Ford 4x4 had one as does my WM300. I have not noticed any problems with them. The owners manual from my '58 Power Giant says to use SAE 30 for temps above 32 degrees and SAE 20W for temps below 32 degrees. Not running one in my '58 as it is powered by a diesel.
