Very important cab question

Quite a ways down this forum, a person named Eric asked a question about the molding above the windshield. He wanted to know how to remove and replace this piece.

I have watched for quite a while, hoping desperately someone would comment on this. It seems to me to be a critical place in the Dodge cab, a place that must cause many folks considerable trouble.

I do not know enough about how the cabs were built to understand how this piece was fitted to the cab at the time of assembly. If you look at a picture of a chassis cowl truck, you will see the sheetmetal stops at that point, above the windshield.

Who in this group has repaired this area and what did you do, or what did your autobody shop do?

Some people have chosen to eliminate the seam, but I think we would like to know how to do it the original way. It may be the metal strip that filled the gap is not available and can not be duplicated.

I certainly do not have body repair skills, but this area of the cab strikes me as possibly the worst area to try to repair.

Thanks,
