Actually they're called split (or lock) ring rims. Split rims were literally a 2 piece rim joined by a collar (3/4 channel type ring) I had split rims on a 64 Dodge D-400 they were outlawed years ago and it is illegal to service or own these rims. As dangerous as lock rings can be split rims were worse
