It is not often that I use the word never,but NEVER use anything that is not Automotive grade. This is normally grade 5. Most ACE type hardware is grade 3. I also do not like to see grade 8 used in place of grade 5. Grade 8 bolts are used much in front end stuff like steering knuckles. the bolts must fit the whole without any slop. A grade 8 will snap before it will bend. If the bolt should come loose and and it did not fit the whole snugly it would be sheared more easily than a grade. So any time you are supposed to use a grade 8 bolt I believe you will find the whole tollerance a little tighter.
