The job was written up in detail, with pictures, and published in Power Wagon Advertiser, in approx. Nov 1997 issue. Basically, you need a 74-78 W100-300 dodge 4X4 box with REVERSE ROTATION, along with the bracket to mount to the frame. It's necessary to cut the tube and shaft just forwards of the firewall and use a ~6" shaft (I used "double D 3/4") with u-joints, to make the linkage from the steering wheel to box. the box goes in approx the same location as the old one. The angle is important. Also, the upper rear mounting bolt goes ABOVE the frame and is bolted to a thick piece of angle that's welded to the top of the frame. The pitman arm splines to the output just as before, and the slight angulation of the first drag link doesn't seem to matter. I strongly recommend also inserting caster wedges for 4 degrees or more of positive caster increase, for better handling and center feel. Also all steering joints should be tight or fixed. A nice small 350mm padded steering wheel was used in my setup. I used a tall thin common Saginaw pump. The gear was obtained from AGR in Texas and the linkage parts from Borgeson in Connecticut. I take no responsibility for injuries or damages, either direct or secondary, property or personal, from such an installation. If youi don't feel comfortable doing such a conversion, DON'T!
