Anyone out there have experience with swapping in a
v8 (either chevy or the 318 chrysler) into a 1/2 ton
military?
I know the M37 can and has been done, using the original
4 speed tranny. Ive also seen it done on a M37 using a complete
chevy engine and tranny and bolting up to the transfer.
I would also like to explore this possibility with my
1/2 ton. My goal would be to use the original tranny
cause' I run a winch from its PTO.
Anyone do this before? Special adapter needed for a
Chrysler V8 motor, or do some older motors bellhousings
bolt up to the original 4 speed? What kind of problems
expected with such a conversion?
Any engine clearance problems around steering box?
Or is this modifiable also?
