Hi Reid, with that serial I expect it is one of the last (ordnance procurement) ones. I have looked long and hard at that body joint, bad news is there is no access to the back of it without pulling the window box internals (to be avoided) Best advice is to get the outside sandblasted if possible, or at any rate VERY clean, then flux and lead the affected area. You can repeat and file down till it looks good to you, but the key factors seem to be the cleanliness when starting and using plenty of lead. Each shell had LOTS of lead in originally so no need to skimp. Should have said solder, rather than plain lead. Not much structural strength required in that joint, cleaning and leading will do nicely, filler will just fall out when the shell flexes. As I said previously dont take the shell off the chassis unless you really have to - nothing is more difficult to put back together than a Caryall body kit. Check front door surround frames, particularly bottom corners. Anything else ? Gordon 8-)
