I have obtained a 1942 wc53 3/4 ton and its missing the lift and tail gates.
It also has the wrong right hand door. The carry-all was used to move men
and equipment from the village of Ruby Alaska to a gold mine in Long Ak
which is about 22 miles down a old mining trail. The truck is still in Long
complete and rust free. Its just missing the above mentioned items. This
summer I plan to fly out to long and tow it to Ruby and put it on a barge
and float it 300 miles upriver to Nenana then trailer it to my shop in
Fairbanks to restore. Should pan out to be a pretty good adventure.
