Chrome would look great on a nicely detailed non-resto rebuild, but you would have to be careful about something called hydrogen embrittlement. As I get it from articles in hot rod mags, this is a common side effect of the plating process, and can be remediedby some form of heat treating. Maybe some of the more adequately versed readers of this forum could expand or expound on this.
