Gents, you suffer from way too many misperceptions to cover in a short answer.

First, you need to understand arc density. It is a function of volts amps electrode diameter and arc length.
Each and every one of those characteristics varies penetration and pool, and a slight variation to any can result in a major change. One base rule, the larger the diameter of the electrode, the more amps you have to push through it.

MIG machines are a dangerous product that shold not be in the hands of the general public because damn near anyone beyond a monkey can deposit metal with a Hot Glue Gun. Deposited metal is NOT a weld.

As to employing a TIG/stick machine as the power sourse for a feeder, you best get a good understanding of what is involved in that. You will need a feeder with a CV/CC switch to begin with. You'll also need the ability to connect the feeder to the machine properly, and an adequit gas system to feed the gun. Then you can begin learning the suttle differences between supplying a feeder from a CC machine as opposed to a CV machine. Of course about that time you'll also be wondering why the hell you didn't just buy a MIG.

As to the machines currently being marketed by white shoed graduates of the Herb Tarlock School of Sales, and I don't care if they are red, blue, purple or white, more than half of the stated capacity is unadulterated crap. What can be acheived in a lab by a skilled weldor cannot be acheived by anyone else.

Always remember the manufacturer is only interested in number of machines sold, and NEVER buy a Miller 250. That machine was junk from day 1, and Miller never made it right.
