My puddle spreads farther and deeper, looks better, IS stronger.
But also, the machine draws more power, enough to pop my breaker, something it wasn't doing before.
What you say re: arc density might be true if I go beyond the capacity of the machine, but I'm thinking that what I have done is gotten to the exact limit of the machine.
But now I have welder envy. My neighbor just brought home a brand new Miller 211. Runs on 110 or 220, welds 3/8ths in a single pass. Stated max wire size is .... .035! I think I'm going to be glad I loaned him my buzz box a time or two. :)
