I agree with what you said. Just because you have a degree does not make you smart or competent. It means you can pass a class. I have discussed this with Mikey in the past and he thinks the exact opposite. Just because you have the book knowledge does not mean your smart. Smart is when you can take that knowledge and apply it in a practical manner that works well and efficiently. There lies the crux. You can have a lot of horsepower upstairs but if you can't use or apply it it is wasted.
Engineers even certified ones are just people. Some are very good others are not to be trusted. What is really scary is that 1/2 of the doctors out there graduated in the bottom half of their class.
