I understand exactly what you are saying.

However, I would replace the master cylinder with a modern dual cylinder version and put a hydroboost. The reason is to simplify the system and increase the safety of the system. If you loose the single master cylinder or the line going to the booster you have lost both front and rear brakes. If you put a modern dual master on the fire wall you will most likely loose only the front or rear brakes.

I am building a hydroboost system to put in my carryall this morning. I needed more room than I had with a vacuum booster to mount the clutch master cylinder. I have had several failures of the clutch system due to poor quality Willwood parts. I found a cast steel master cylinder that will fit. I only have 2 3/4" between the brake and clutch push rods. I will post some pictures of the system before long. So far the hydro boost was $175, Clutch master $86, Clutch slave $16 steel for mount $3.50. I still need $50 of parts for the hydroboost and about $10 in brake line and bolts. I also need to pick up a power steer pump, belt, and 2 pulleys. I should be into it for just over $400 when done.
