I am running Hella lamps in my 51 ffPW. I bought 6 volt H$ bulbs for it from classic garage which is the link that Marty gave you. I bought the 12 volt Hella headlights locally and used the 6 volt H4 bulb in them. They are definitely brighter and I can now see. They are not as bright as the 12v bulbs but they are brighter than any standard bulb. I put in 55/60 watt H4 bulbs. No problems with getting pulled over with these.
I replaced the original factory headlights with these. I kept the old headlight as they still work well and they are date stamped Feb 1951. I figure those are not replaceable and can be used in a period correct restoration if I want to later on.
