You can install H4 Halogen lights if you don't care about the difference in appearance. They're flat faced but you can buy 6V bulbs that run up to 130 watts as opposed to a stock 65 watt high beam. Illegal in most places for road use but I don't think you'd be getting any tickets :)
Here's a link to one on Ebay...they come with 12V bulbs but 6V are available for about $10ea.
Very important to wire in relays if you run the high wattage bulbs or you'll fry your headlight switch...if not your harness :(
