Every 230 I've gotten has needed its fuel pump rebuilt within a year. I'm sure it's the alcohol in the gas that does it. I've rebuilt them all with kits from Then & Now Automotive and have had no failures. I've done at least 3 different styles of pumps -- regular AC, dual-acting AC, and Carter, and the kits have all had the right parts and worked fine. They're probably almost as expensive as a new pump, but for me I like to see what's inside and know what I have for sure.
