Now I certainly don't want to come across as any type of "doomsday post-apocolyptic soothsayer," but Paul's inquiry conjours up images of the Mad Max movie world where the restoration-of and tinkering-with trucks to achieve top performance might arise out of a need for superior transportation in spite of a lacking of tools, parts, fuel, and currently manufactured sufficient vehicles. The survivors end up being the ones maintaining a certain amount of mechanical aptitude and creative inventiveness.

That being said, I can look ahead and see the current-day Jeep Wranglers (regardless of their ever-changing corporate entity) being held in high regard for restoration potential just as the legacy of old-iron jeeps has been strongly maintained by our own generations. Much of today's restored and preserved old iron from the '40's, '50's, and '60's is likely to outlive most of what is being manufactured today.

Keep 'em rollin'

Bruce
