Hey guys! Haven't posted in a while but been reading some. Enjoying the truck.

You should know I would post only when I had a problem. You guys were always so helpful.

Anyway, I have a 57 K6 W300 Power Wagon with original transfer case and I put my 4 wheel drive to the first real test a few weeks ago. Pulled a 4X4 tractor out of the ditch.

I was pulling in reverse with good traction on a hard gravel road and heard a pop sound, not real loud. I thought it was the chain tractor hitch that made the sound because everything seemed fine. I was able to pull the tractor out but realized the front wheels were no longer pulling.

At first, there was no noise in 4 wheel drive, it just didn't work. Now, it makes a lot of noise and sometimes stalls the truck when I put it in. The lever goes in out most of the time but occassionally hangs up.

Any idea what might be going on and what I may need before I tear it apart? I put new seals, gaskets, etc. in the t-case during the rebuild, pre-loaded it according to shop manual, etc. but didn't change any gears or anything. It drives fine in 2 wheel drive so I don't want it to be down too long when I get into it.

As always, any help is much appreciated.
