They were all in and out of crevasses on every glacier, several were captured on stills and film.
There was a lot of weight in the trailed sleds, which helped, and normally they just drove two more 743s round to the front, hitched Weasels on the back as back stops, and dug aluminium laddering underneath.
I have both the films here but can't copy them because the copyright is BP...
One of the four Tuckers was lost after the expedition when in use by the New Zealand Antarctic folk. It his a crevass lonways and went down as there was no chance to bridge it. Story at the link
