the fiction is that the US companies that ship jobs offshore do it for the tax breaks. they do it for the cheap labor and freedom from restrictive US business laws and regulations. remove the tax breaks for big US companies and they will leave the US altogether and cease being US companies. when they do, that tax base will then be 100% gone and we will still buy their products.
