I changed oil in both of my trucks over the weekend. Both have the Deluxe Clean Oil filter canisters, and both take the NAPA 1011 filter element supplied by WIX.
Last year, I was sold a pair of those slightly oversized elements that have plagued the Power-Wagon community the past couple of years. If you remember, somehow at least one of the three suppliers to WIX got the wrong dimensions and were building filters way out of tolerance. They will fit the canister, but it takes some serious effort to stuff them in there.
The two filters I bought this year fit much better. Both were WIX filters, sold through NAPA as 1011, and each was made by a different manufacturer. One was slightly larger diameter than the other (visually the same, and next to impossible to accurately measure the diameter of a sock type filter anyway), but both fit the canister fine with the larger one needing only a little extra persuasion.
Thanks to Todd Wilson (and others whom I have forgotton) it appears that your efforts at working with WIX to correct the problem have paid off.
