Hi George. Someone who owned it prior to you was either uninformed as to the proper lube, or they put grease in because the seals were leaking. Most likely the latter. I have had good results with a product called EZ Flow Lithium Grease. It flows like pudding, and yet doesn't leak like oil. Best thing is to take it apart and replace the seals and gaskets in it. JH
