Wish I had oil and gas under my place. The energy/mining companies know that a good deal has to be good for both parties. Lots of farmers in North Dakota are finally getting to live comfortably thanks to the Baken oil field. The problems usually arise when some long-ago owner sold the mineral rights in what seemed like a good deal to him at the time, but now somebody finally shows up to extract those minerals. That's a mess.
