There used to be an old guy (back when I was a kid) who had a repair shop in a 20 person population town near me. He specialized in working on small engines, mowers, chain saws etc.

I have met a young guy (in his 20's) at the local antique tractor shows with the same last name as that fellow I remember, and he is from the same town. He brings all kinds of old oddball stuff to the shows, Matag engines, hover type lawn mowers, powered reel mowers, hit and miss engines, etc.

He is a little slow and kind of hard to talk to, but the guy has talent. I think he is a nephew or grandson of the fella I remember.

I have a couple saws of my own and would like to get one fixed up to prove at shows that it actually runs. They are old David Bradley chainsaws. I have thought about contacting that young guy to see if he could help me out. If I can get a hold of him, I could ask about working on your buddy's saws also. I am familiar with what you are describing, and I'll bet he is too.

If interested, I can see if I can find him and maybe you could bring the saws to the Rally in June? It may be a year before you would get them back though.

Keep in touch?

Junior
