You use a punch and push the 3 pins out part way. Then cut them off with a chisel. Then punch them some more and cut them off again. Obviously you replace the pins on reassembly.
Have fun unscrewing the cover. You will need a good vice or diff holder to hold it. I had to use a 6 foot cheater to get it to break loose. On reassembly heat the case with a torch and cool the cap and get it together fast. You may need to drill new holes for the pins that hold the cover as the chances of lining up the original ones is slim.
