There is no power take off on the transfer case so I still don't know. I'll do the 4 pints and let some come out. I have shyed away from synthetic in classic cars because it is more slippery and tends to find it's way out.(leak) It doesn't sound like the rest of you have found that to be true. I don't mind a classic leaking some but with the emerency brake (that I just got relined)right behind the transfer case I wanted to keep it from getting saturated.
