Last year i put a new clutch in my tractor > i had to split the engine and front end to access the clutch > the front end of the tractor pivots ,were it pivots is a sizable castlated nut and a bolt that sits in a bushing < the nut and bolt swivels constantly as it serves as the pivot in the axle support > I KNOW that i torqued it to specs and i KNOW that i inserted a cotter pin as it is not quite as big as a pencil > the original cotter pin was a beast to bend and remove very hard material > the replacement was more like solder but was from the Dealer were i purchased the clutch > The front axle fell off the tractor and nose dived on the ground fortunatly for me i was only moving the tractor slowly > I retraced my steps found the bolt about 75 feet way and found the nut on the field about 500 yards away > these are big a$$ parts you need a 3 inch socket, to give you the idea of the size > long story shortened the dropping and bending in the mishap wrecked the axle support on the tractor (new replacement price 1350) which i didnt pay i found a used for 375 > i am sure of this , if that the cotter pin i replaced !was of the same quality and strength of the original that assembly would have never come apart ! ~ Copey
