In 2000 I bought my '51 B3PW from the original owner. I was offered the original tires that were taken off and stored sometime in the early 70's. They were worn out Goodyears. In 1980, when I bought my '47 WDX, it had a mounted spare that looked like it had not been used much, but it was weather checked really bad. All the other tires on the truck were worn down to almost no tread left and were falling to pieces. They were all Goodyear.
Not sure Goodyears were always the tire of choice and they may have changed over the years anyway.
