You mean 'cast', not 'stamped'?

The stamped number on the machine pad is usually the engine serial number. Like Mikey says, it should start with 'T' for truck, '137' is the specific truck engine model, and the rest is the serial number. Other starting letters are 'D' for Dodge, 'P' for Plymouth, umm 'F' for Fargo? 'I' for Industrial motors.

My own truck has a D-47xxx, so it has been replaced? The blocks are just about all the same, I think cams, manifolds and carbs were the major differences.

You WN means it was made during the war, by Winchester Arms. ;) Okay, no. Probably a rebuilder re-stamped it with an invoice number. Though some state assigned a serial number because the inspector couldn't find the frame number. I have an M-101 trailer that is licensed by the contract number, dumb inspector read the wrong line on the plate.
