Bless the holidays , they leave us with such fond memories to remember the good times in our families lives. My niece Cheryl is thirty five years old now ,so this event was twenty five years ago this Easter . Because Mrs Copey (grama Copey) senior lived at our house , the dinner was always at my place . Now at that time I had only 4 little copey s of my own ,and I had warned then as always that at eleven o clock after church service , the house would be invaded by their nineteen other cousins so I advised them to hide their chocolate . My oldest son Butch undertook the job of stashing the goods . Grama Copey was busy in the kitchen preparing the ham and scallop potatoes ,she said there is only room for one cook in the kitchen and stood by that rule bar none . So the rest of us were in the living room doing the gabbing thing and the kids were running wild , a few minor scuffles and few banged heads and at least no 911 calls .Every five or ten minutes Cheryl would fly into the kitchen and fly right out again . This went on until four in the afternoon right up to dinner . Well the spread is laid out in the dinning room ,we all assemble at the two tables set end to end . Grace was said and no sooner as the ham was carved Cheryl , got sick ,very sick , so sick the meal came to a abrupt end ,right there , all over but the crying .It then hit me , now I turn to my son Butch where did you hide all the chocolate . He responds in the kitchen the kitchen pantry ,that would have explain her frequent trips in and out the kitchen , she hit pay dirt in the pantry . She is carried over to the couch ,still ill and her mother ask were did you get all that chocolate “It was the Easter bunny , mommy he made eat it “ . To this day we still ask Cheryl when she comes for Easter dinner how much chocolate did you have ! Happy Easter ~ Copey and family
