A need an answer to a little puzzle.
I was just cleaning all the old grease off the engine when I noticed something that got me thinking. Stamped into the top of the head was a big capital "A" and below this was what looked like a date code. 06 10 54. Net to that was an D and an N with an arrow pointing at the D. Does this mean this engine is actually built in 1954 and therefore an imposter in my 48?
Also on the block on the distributor side at the top nearest the radiator is a machined part with a series of numbers starting with the letters "WN".
What do these letters and numbers signify?
