I did not do the restoration. The second owner acquired it from the Yampa Valley Electric Company in Steamboat Springs, CO with paperwork authenticating it was bought new by them and that they sold it with approximately 4000 miles. I believe they may have had a pole derrick on it as they used the truck to set power poles in hell holes that other equipment would not go so when Yampa owned it there may have been no bed but do not know for sure. I believe the cab to be original bit he may have added the second series bed. No one at Yampa has returned my request for information.
When I bought the truck in Telluride, CO the Owner claimed it was an unmolested, low mileage truck that had an expensive paint job but claimed that is all he did to it. So I don't know if the bed was added or not.
I think I am going to crush both trucks as the '54 has a repowered 230, black seats instead of gray, shocks have been painted but too bad, and my low mileage original truck is not that at all with a transplanted 2nd series bed and incorrect mirror arm. If you see black smoke in the sky it is just the nice Mohawks being torched cause the crusher wants the tires off when I take things to them. Time to find another $1,000.00 basket case and fork out another 50k to get it right this time. Been bored lately anyway
