Yes, coil. Twice my poor running truck problems have been solved by swapping coils. Used some real scientific deductive reasoning problem solving decision tree methods to figure that out. In other words, nothing else worked. So to save time and grief I put bad coils on top of the list. Happened twice with my m37, spent 4 days over a freezing thanksgiving weekend once messing with everything, and just this past summer when it was parked for 2 days while a PW rally raged all around it. Both times a last resort coil swap solved the problem. Both times I took the entire fuel system and carb apart. Although the recent time I did find some crap in the gas line, and cracked insulation on a coil wire, so at least I fixed something, but didn't help the truck run better.
