I agree 100% and well put. I've always thought it would be a good idea that all the corporate big wigs who make these decisions be forced to live in the country of their plant WITH their families as long as it is there. Corporate and stock holder greed is killing this country along with our basic laziness as a people.
A good example is the company I work for. Back when this started in the early 90's. We were working loads of overtime and getting profit sharing. First step was to say we weren't meeting our profit margins and and profit sharing had to be cut. It wasn't that we weren't making a good profit, it was that we weren't making the INCREASE in profit that they wanted.
Next step was to say the overtime was taking too much out of the profit so another cut to PS???? We were working less than before and I guess they didn't think we'd catch that.
When things did slow down, no overtime highest effeciency and lowest scrap in company history but "not enough profit to warrant a profit sharing pool" and gone completely.
Our floor workforce has been cut by more than 1/3 while the non floor(white collar) workers have almost doubled. Hard to keep your chin up with that much dead wait pulling you down.
