Bill, when I painted my 47 last year this is the order I did the cab: First I painted the bottom. Second I painted the inside. Lastly I painted the exterior. Before I started the exterior I masked off the windshield opening, the door openings and the floor hole and all small holes, Cowl lights, firewall holes etc.

This worked much better than trying to paint it all at once. When painting large areas it is important to move quickly enough so you do not get dry spots. I.e. when painting over the roof, start at on side bottom and work your way up and over the rof about half way then from the other side pick up the mid roof spot and work your way down the other side. Worked for me. Lots of good advice and info on the following web link.
