From everything I've ever heard, Jim has it right. Sales brochures indicate that 1963 was the last year for cowl lights. Civy 2wd drives didn't have them in 1939 and the 1941 Military 1/2 ton 4X4 and 2wd closed cabs "weren't" supposed to have them as well. They were not installed on the late sixies as many here have added them. Kevin
