I just did the same thing up here except the 727 I was using was a short tailshaft transmission used with the divorced 205. It's complicated because there are so many 205 input shafts & so many 727 output shafts....but yes, you need an adapter like the one you posted the link for as well as the output shaft is likely different for the 208 than the 205....you'd need to call those guys & ask a transmission expert.
Mine, I just bought a complete small block 727 core with all the parts & swaped them over to my big block 727 transmission. You need to pull the whole transmission down to remove the output shaft & so unless the 208 & 205 share the same one....it's not as easy as one would hope.
