My first pick up was a 78 Dodge Club Cab with a 360 and automatic along with full time 4 wheel drive. I loved that truck and it pulled everything I hooked to it. I pulled three semis and numerous other vehicles that were stuck in snow. I pulled trailers with heavy loads and put over 140,000 miles on the truck. The weak point was the low fuel mileage but it did run. They usually have rust over the rear wheels and most times in the rocker panels. There are patch panels if you need them. They are good trucks and full time is great. Some people have other opinions on that but I'll take it anyday of the week. If you do get the truck spring for an aftermarket tranny cooler if you plan a lot of heavy hauling/towing for insurance.
