tig and or stick is the way to go when you are doing over head i find that running the rod cold with er7018 1/8 inch around 100- 115 works the best cold and slow so you have less chance to move off the joint, tig is good as long as you have somthing to hold your self on tig will not shoot spatter at you as long as you are doing it right
